Havana Moment in Bonaire

August has been a fantastic month in this beautiful place; discovering more dive sites; getting to know more cruisers; welcoming Crazy Daisy with Heather and Bob into the marina and Leo, Karin, Paul and Trish rejoining us.

Life continues to be peaceful and relaxing, with this month seeing Stephen and Debbie increase their confidence with their diving. Bonaire boasts 103 dive sites that can be visited by dinghy or from the beach. Diving involves putting together lots of bits of kit, it's heavy, the tanks require filling before every dive, masks need to be cleaned and tightened, otherwise you spend your dive constantly clearing your mask, and continuous checking with weird hand signals under water.
Hogg Island Anchorage, Grenada
To summarise:
Back on Amelie in Le Marin, Martinique
Sail to St Pierre, Martinique to meet up with Babe
24 hour blast down to Grenada
4 days in Grenada to fix fridge/freezer and meet up with Peter & Wendy
We set off from Hogg Island in light winds but within a half an hour we headed for the West with our twin headsails set. We had done all the preparation for this before leaving harbour. For the first 48 hours we made slow progress in the 10kt easterly wind but finally we hung onto our coat tails and stormed along in 20+ knots to arrive in Bonaire at midnight on our third day. Mooring up was not fun in one of the darkest nights, luckily we woke a couple of Americans with Amelie’s bow thrusters and they secured us to the buoy.
So the only feedback we’ve had so far is to include an executive summary for those of you who are fed up of trolling through the whole of our blog and reading about the fantastic weather and continuous parties, so here goes.
