SEASONAL UK VISIT
The unexpected pleasure of returning to the UK for the third time in 2017 with the icing on the cake (boom, boom) of Tom and Katies wedding.
Debbie spent her time visiting her parents in Hatfield Heath, enjoying catching up with her young nephews and generally being spoilt by her Mum and Dad.
Jaz, Jon and Debbie spent some quality time together discovering great wine bars, birthday celebrations at a Tapas restaurant, crisp walks on the beach with Ralph the Dog, catching up with Andrew and Ulli and chilling in festive adorned, warm country pubs. The “country pub” theme wove itself throughout Debbie’s stay and she realised how much she missed these establishments and they are certainly not replicated throughout the world!
The Collins clan always make a huge effort and as a family very welcoming. Christmas Day was brought forward two weeks with traditional Turkey, trimmings, party games, crackers, hats and liberal amounts of alcohol.
Lastly Jaz and Debbie visited Jo in her country pub , staying over with Jane in Exeter, meeting her Dad for the first time! A wonderful start to Christmas.
Apart from a two day visit to Clive & Ju, in Chester, Stephen spent his fortnight with his family in Devon. Mainly based with Tom & Katie in Newton Abbot he tried not to hinder the last minute wedding preparations. As always spending time with Katie, James & Charlotte gave some wonderful ‘Grandpa’ time. Catching up with the newly weds, Sam & Abby, they shared there plans for work on their house and to the impending arrival of a puppy.
And so to the Wedding Weekend where Tom & Katie had booked Polhawn Fort in Cornwall from Friday afternoon until Monday Morning. The weather was a mixture of sunny and stormy and everything in between. Tom & his mates did a dip in the cold Cornish sea and then invaded our room for hot showers and dressing in ther finery for the ceremony. There was a great mixture of both families and friends and after the formalities of the afternoon the evening certainly rocked. All too soon it was Monday morning and we headed for Heathrow and our return to San Diego.
